Kinnaur - Land of fairytales

Arrive at Chandigarh Airport by noon and proceed for check-in. Designed by the Swiss-French modernist architect Le Corbusier, is known as one of the best experiments in urban planning and modern architecture of our country in the twentieth century. Post breakfast, we will proceed to Kufri which is a 5 hrs (125 km) drive from Chandigarh. Nestled in the lap of the majestic Himalayas with thick forests of pines and deodars along the road elevate the beauty of the place. The nature lover inside you will wake up when you will see the view of the stunning snow-capped mountains on all three sides of this small hill station. Reach Kufri by afternoon, in the evening catch the lovely sunset and get acquainted with your new friends. Overnight stay at Kufri hotel.

Post breakfast we will start our journey from Kufri to Sarahan via Narkanda. Narkanda is situated at an altitude of 2708 meters on the Hindustan Tibet road and it is also know as “The Gateway to Kinnaur”.

From here if the weather is clear, you get the first glimpse of the magnificence lying ahead. From the green valleys in the foreground to the striking expanse of snow covered Himalayan wall on the horizon, the breathtaking spectacle is the first indication of the splendour up ahead. It commands a unique view of the eternal snow line, the inviting apple orchards and dense forests. Late in the afternoon we will reach Sarahan, settled at an elevation of 2165 m and is graced with the presence of Shrikhand Mahadev peak. Besides, Sarahan is famous for the Bhimakali Temple. The temple revers the name of Goddess Bhimakali, the presiding deity of Bushahr dynasty. Pay homage at Bhimakali.

Dinner and night stay at hotel.

Post breakfast we will start our journey from Sarahan to Sangla. One of the most beautiful and romantic valleys in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh is the Sangla Valley, which is surrounded by thick forest slopes and offers lovely views of the high mountains surrounding it.

In the evening, go on a small hike to the mesmerizing Baspa river. The scintillating Baspa River in Sangla Valley is one of the most scenic rivers of the Himalayas. The crystal clear water of the river flows gently, making a soothing sound as it passes over the rocks. The surrounding landscape is simply breathtaking, with snow-capped mountains towering over the river, and lush greenery all around.
Take a deep breath of the fresh mountain air and feel a sense of peace and serenity wash over you before returning back. Evening at leisure! Overnight stay in Sangla.

Post breakfast, proceed to visit the last inhabited place in India before the Indo-Tibetan border, named Chitkul. It is about 28 km away from Sangla Valley, at an altitude of 3450 Mtrs, and on the banks of the Baspa river. The magical beauty which this village offers is unmatched and incomparable.

We will visit the Indo-Tibetan border. Make a quick pit stop at Hindustan's last dhaba before the border and grab a bite, it will be a great experience to share! Relax near the Baspa River, the views around the banks of the river are to die for. Have a little ‘you-time’ sitting by the side of the beautiful river and contemplating life.

While coming back, go for a walk in the Batseri village. Dinner and stay in Sangala.

Have an early breakfast and get ready to start your journey to Kalpa via Reckong Peo. Kalpa is one of the most scenic places in all of Himachal and is definitely worth visiting.

Reckong Peo is located at a height of 2,290 meters. You will know that you have reached Reckong Peo when you start getting the fresh scent of pine trees, apple orchards, stately deodars.

Later we will proceed to visit Kothi Mata Temple. This temple in Kothi village of Kalpa is dedicated to Chandika Devi who is the oldest daughter of Banasura. The temple has beautiful architecture with significant use of wood and stones. We will also visit the very beautiful Hu-Ba-Lan-Kar Monastery, which is a perfect place for history buffs! Near the monastery you will get glimpse of Kinnaur culture and its colorful villagers. At some distance, you will find Narayan Nagini Temple, a perfect example of Kinnauri craftsmanship. This temple is constructed in traditional Tibetan Pagoda style of architecture. Also the amazing view of Himalayas from the temple ground is the added attraction.

Go for a short walk in the village! Soak in the view of the beautiful mountains and the river. Come back have breakfast and get ready to proceed to Narkanda, make a quick stop at the Karcham Dam - this 98m tall dam is India’s largest hydropower plant! and the viewpoint near the Roghi village has a spectacular view of the snow-clad mountains. On the way enjoy the breathtaking views of the apple orchards, greenery, and the Sutlej river, all making up the perfect scenery that you will not be able to forget in the days to come. Evening at leisure. Stay and dinner at the hotel in Narkanda.

We will have a hearty breakfast after which we will proceed to Chandigarh! Enjoy the last few hours looking at the mountains view! We will have lunch on the way..by evening we will reach Chandigarh! Enjoy the last evening with your newly made friends, reminiscing the last few days! Dinner and stay at the hotel in Chandigarh.

After breakfast, we will drop you to the airport and bid our goodbyes with a heavy heart and in the hope to see you again soon!

• 8 Nights and 9 days accommodations at 3* category hotels/Camp on twin sharing basis (Twin beds are subject to availability). We provide single sharing accommodation for a supplementary cost. In case interested, please let us know while making the booking itself. All rooms are base category. Kinnaur has a very limited number of hotels with very basic amenities. Some of the hotels have limited rooms and we might have to book different category rooms for our guests. The allocation of rooms would be done in the best possible manner by our tour leader.
• Toyota Innova for all transfers. 4 guests for each vehicle. A/C won't run in hills. Seats on a rotational basis.
• Group pickup from Airport only in case the flight is booked as per our suggested time.
• Breakfast(8), Lunch(7) and Dinner(8). Set menu or buffet for all meals. Breakfast and Dinner would be provided in hotel/Resort and Lunch in local restaurants.
